Unfortunately, I cannot say I recognize any of the tops in the picture  :P

Was she successful with the Big Scoop? I would be doubly impressed if that was the case (not that I am not already).

PS: Lurkers are out of luck: log in needed to view the last picture.

If that Titi fell on the rocks my heart would be broken. That top, with its unique shape and combination of materials is a collector dream! And to top it, it plays great!

Ok, I know we have not included several worthy pictures to this thread in the past few months, so please add any that are missing.

Obviously, one of TomyMoonly's photos of a Giulia in the mountains should be here:

These two I recently took were nominated by Neff and poptop:

What else? Deadline is December 31st, 23:59:59, UTC-11.

I've been watching ta0's pictures of his Roy Campbell's acrylic tops with interest as I have a bunch of Roy's tops including two of the acrylic ones.  I have turned about a half dozen acrylic tops, all hollow or partially hollow.  My favorite is my 3 1/4" diameter "Flashlight Top".  There is an acrylic disc that press-fits into the crown which holds a tiny battery operated LED.  When this is in and the light is on it projects a red spot light (pinpoint, almost like a laser pointer) up to 20'.  The acrylic functions like a lens, both focussing and projecting the light.  Here's a picture:

Great picture, Eric!  I am betting the central curve is an ellipse while the other arc a hyperbola.
I hope one day to see one like that in green coming from Cincy  ;)

Perhaps I'll start turning acrylic before wood . . .

Twenty feet? Mmm, is that speckle on the surface? Here I am thinking it is a laser diode not an LED.

ta0, I just measured......at 14' - 15' the spot disapates, so no 20'.............. I don't know what type of diode it is, but here's the website link:

I've used these for years on tops and yo-yos; Greg carried then for a while in the Infinite Illusions store...........

Why green?

I love that red top.  Nice shot.  Thanks for sharing it!

Is it hard to do tricks with it in the dark?

Ok, it is an LED. But I am impressed that the top can focus the LED that far.
I think I am ordering some of those lights :)

Green is the color (after doubling the frequency from the infrared) of the laser system physboy2357 is using in his experiments.

Larry D. and Silvertop nominated this one:

I took that one but the model should get all the credit. I also took this one with a similar idea.
