The performer is Otobokesan who I had mentioned on the Japanese lantern top thread (Chochin-goma). He is a juggler and magician with many props as you can see on his website: link.

OK, I made up the story about the Zargonian mothership orbiting behind the moon 'cuz it's a good premise for jokes. But this video's proof-positive that space aliens from advanced top-spinning civilizations are already among us.

As for the scene at 0:25, I have to ask...

Q: In how many countries around the world today could top-spinning be a nightclub act?
