Amazing tricks, Daniel! Looking forward to future installments.

Anyone: Having twirled many a top by various means but never having thrown one, l'm curious about string design -- for example, the measures taken to reduce friction against the metal tip. Besides a judicious choice of string material,  are  coatings or lubricants used?

One way to reduce the friction is to use a bearing tip. But for regenerations the friction is necessary to add speed to the spin.

Thanks for straightening me out on bearing tips, Dick! Should have known that they're not just to reduce friction when the top's on the ground. Seems like many if not most of the tops flying around on this forum (pun intended) rarely touch the ground.

Oh! The memories! The difference is that your top did not finish floating in a fountain like on my attempt!  :-[  ;D

This is a trick I definitely would like to try again  ;)

That is a cool trick of the week.  I did the same thing nine years ago but I was at the Tracadero.  I need to relearn the trick and go back!!!

I did the same trick Hroch did, the Eiffel Tower string trick.  I am wondering how many people on this forum have done the same thing.......Jim (of course), ta0, Hroch, Ludo and others in Paris.  Some of the Italians?

It's 3 PM on Monday in Czech Republic and that means, it's time for another Trick of the week! The normal Magnetic Wire part is much harder than the UD one in this situation because the top is just not spinning at all after waiting a moment to get a full turn on it.

So far #7 is my favorite TOTW!  As Jack mention the transitions are prefect.

Thanks guys, I'm pleasured you like it! Since the top is spinning slowly, you just wait a moment when going to UD Magnetic Wire and the tops tilts nicely for it, try it too!
