Duncan Donald Duck Squawker sold for a good price

Rare-MOC-NIB-Donald-Duck-Squawker-1321-Duncan-Spinning-Top-Vintage-Disney

I have never seen a wood squawker.  It was at $12.00 with 4 minutes to go and sold for $177.90.  I guess that when you combine top collectors AND Disney collectors you get a happy seller.

Congratulations to both seller and buyer! (whoever they may be)

Oh and notice the back.  Put the button between your last 2 fingers. :)  Someone paid $1.00 for this and never played with it. :(

I was following this one, but I did not post about it because I thought somebody on this forum may already be bidding on it and I did not want to raise competition and the price for him/her.

Just two bidders took it that high: the third bidder only put a bid for $25. But those two bidders have a lot of purchases (1,611 and 487 bids) so this is not necessary the case of inexperience collectors overpaying. The top is in fact difficult to find, specially on the card. And when you find it out of the card it has like a 50% chance of not squawking as the reed inserts on the whistles are very delicate. Here is a photo of an intact one:

I've been married to a Squawker for 52 years. Why would I want another one?
