The Czech player was Ondrej Sedivy, who is going to be a spintop judge, I believe. I don't recall if I already have Vashek on the Gallery: if he is not I'll definitely get his photo.

Thad was the first person I talked to when I got here. He says that if there are spintop players coming he can get us another room to throw: yeepy! By the way, I showed him the flip-flop trick  using the Chico 2.0. I also asked him to round the edge of the tip so it doesn't cut the string. I have never talked to Gentry, but I was the third player to register after him and Ann Connolly (they used us to test their system).

In half an hour I am heading for the venue.

If you run into Thad, let him know I'm working hard for them!

But, don't prioritize that. Enjoy your time in Japan. Wish I was there. The photos have been great!

I have tried to watch the live stream to see if I can watch it.  Alas, my internet connection is letting me down :(  Please someone record it.
Thanks.
Wishing I could watch it live.

Prelims had 12 registered but Rob overslept and Fajar from the Duncan crew Singapore went to the wrong stage so we were 10 that actually freestyled.
The 5 to the finals are Watanabe, Miki and Taka for Japan, Mike for USA and myself for Uruguay.

The freestyles were amazing! Mike has done some great tricks, it's a pity that he looked a little bit nervous at the end and made some mistakes. ta0's done many super difficult tricks as always (pirouette, back stab catches, jump rope to circular saw) and almost without mistakes. I really enjoyed koma performances, it's completely different style and I like it so much. Miki was amazing with his big koma on one throw without mistakes and Keita was doing difficult "modern" tricks with traditional koma, top dancing with whip at the end I liked the most :)

Congratulation guys, looking forward to results!

I cannot believe it! I was first.  Kazuhito Miki and Keita Watanabe were second and 3rd.  Miki is a profesional performer and his rutine was flawless. Watanabe in practice hit those tricks he missed on stage most of the time. He could have easily won. I am sure that with more experience Mike has many titles in his future.

I saved some tricks on the freestyle and in the end I was very happy with what I did. And the reaccion of the public who filled the room was the best I remember for tops.

Wow! I would have never imagined when I picked up tops at 39 years of age that I would be raising a trophy in Japan about 15 years later! I guess perseverance and pasion, plus the requiered measure of luck, pays off. Of course, I don't kid myself: with the competitors at last year in Prague I would probably not even have been in the podium.
