I have not had any time to practice......but I am willing to put up my best attempt. Tao, since you have already registered, can  you tell me does Spin Top have a registration fee, and require NYYL membership too?

I paid $25 for registration and $25 for the yo-yo league. But I would think that as a yo-yo judge you would get the league fee waived.

 I am hoping to do my best to keep the spin top championships alive. Now let's get a few other beginners out there free styling!

Although it is not listed on the day by day, on top of the schedule it says:
"Sport Freestyle Division and Spin Top will be in the Westin LAX Theater on Saturday, September 26th."

Today at midnight is the registration deadline. So I guess we will know tomorrow (crossing fingers). I wrote to Jon and Mike D. but I have not heard back from them.

I asked Thad yesterday morning but I have had no response yet.
Jon did write saying that he will be in Mexico.   I am really hoping that Mike D. registered.

Topper said he may come, but I don't think he likes to compete.

Anyway, the deadline to cancel the hotel was today, so I will be there for sure. I'll ask Brian to ship the trophy to the hotel.

ooooo topper topper topper!!! i was wondering if he was still around. his videos were what really got me back into doing top tricks @-@
seeing him play made me think hey if that guy can do it and look cool then by god so can i dammit!!! or at least i try lol i still have much to learn

On the latest email from nats, asking for players to upload the music (deadline is tomorrow and I have not yet chosen mine) it says:

Spin Top - we need your music too! Your performances are 3-minute finals.

So, I guess it is on!

This is my plan:

I arrive to the hotel Friday around 2PM. Throw tops with whoever is there the rest of the day.
Saturday morning: freestyles
Leave around 2PM for San Luis Obispo to visit the spintop collection of Dan Lassanske 
Stay in a hotel nearby and return the next morning to LA.
Have lunch at one of the TOPS burger joints in Pasadena.
Throw some tops at the beach before flying back in the evening.

I am sorry Cecil, but I think I'll visit you on a future trip to SF. We could organize a meeting with Herman, Catherine and Brian (he cannot throw a top right now.)
