OWB GIULIA
« on: September 29, 2014, 10:21:05 AM »

I'm interested in getting a one way bearing tip for my Giulia, but yoyo-expert has been out for a while. Does anyone know where I can get one? I found some websites in Europe, but with shipping and exchange rate it is more expensive.
Thanks.

Boca Bearing has the one way bearing for the S8 tops:

www.bocabearings.com/bearing-types/one-way-bearings

I don't recall the size by heart.

Great, thanks for the link. I'll measure and figure out the size.

The owb is model HF0406. The dimensions are 4x8x6 mm (ID, OD, width) and it is here (the photo on the page is not the exact model).

Be aware that you need a tip that is OWB-ready. If you have a standard earlier bearing tip with a single diameter shaft, you won't be able to fit the owb as it has a smaller inner diameter than the regular bearings.

EDIT: For completeness, the regular bearings on the S8 tops are what yo-yoers call A-size: 5x10x4mm. The bearings for the Chico top are C-size: 1/8"x1/2"x3/16".

Thanks for all the info.

:o I have a standard tip, so I'll have to wait until I can find the OWB tip.

Send a message to Mr Yo. (Maurizio)
Me might still have a couple left.
I also think that the newer STB tips are OWB compatible if you can get your hands on one of them.
Good Luck! ;)

Thanks for the suggestion czyoyo.
Before writting to Maurizio I decided to remove the tip and double check and I think I have the right tip for the owb. Here is a picture.

Yes, you are lucky, that looks like a OWB-ready tip.  :)

Yes! I got my Giulia about 4 months ago and came with that tip.

Found it cheaper at vxb.com (but I have not compared shipping costs):

I'll be keen to know how these work.  I bought some that were a good fit (ebay I think?) but they didn't spin free enough to be useful.

I tried cleaning to no avail.  Seems some are better than others...

I ordered some OWBs from VBX and they worked great.
