Quite a set up.

Looks like you have worked long and hard on this!

AH. Now I see that the lever is well out of the way of the rope. That was not clear in the videos.
What did you use for the concrete forms? The posts look so very nice.

Wow! The scale of your project continues to boggle my mind!

The touch of making the columns look like palm trees was very nice. Was that your idea?

Good luck with the full load test! Everything is looking good!

Raining today and Trevor is visiting Manila today anyway.  We are looking to Monday for the full load pull test.  Kirk, the concrete posts were poured in round sheet-metal forms then we added cement mortar/plaster for finishing.  Jorge, I saw the palm-tree type finish on a display of patio pavilion posts so thought we would give it a try.  Question for you guys on decor:  should we paint the posts or does the grey cement look tree-like enough? And the upper portion paint it green and yellow like real tops of coco palms or leave as is?  Your opinion is valued but may not be followed!  ;D

My vote--no paint :(  They look great the way they are.

I agree. They look great as they are. Sometimes a nod to a form is better than trying to perfectly copy it.

Paint on concrete can protect against water getting into the pores and causing cracks during a hard freeze.  Wait, never mind.

I agree.  They are wonderful as they are.

LOL, Kirk, better run and put some anti-freeze in my car!  But it may be a good idea to coat it with a clear sealant. I'll check with Trevor, he is a big Bondcrete fan.  Thanks!

Trevor had it covered.  Already has two coats of sealant on the cement work.

Is it raining? You have a typhoon going north of you. I hope you have the chance to try it.

Yes, typhoon passed north, was raining early but cleared for the test.  Video being uploaded to YouTube.  Will post it when finished.  Will post it here as reply/continuation but you can make it separate entry if you want or just readjust title to include today.  Thanks.  (Are you in suspense as to how it went?)

YES!!! I guess I'll stay up late!

(Changed the title of the first post so the replies don't have the old date.)
