In many ways, itopspin.com is a club.  There are only so many of us.  We all work together.  There are contests and challenges and raffles.  We help each other and joke with each other.  It is just too bad that we are so far apart, but then maybe we wouldn't get along so well if we were closer to each other and had to spend more time with each other.

I guess what I'm saying is.......Dojo-yoyo7, welcome to the club!

Didn't someone talk about t-shirts at one time? 

Interestingly enough, I got my eyes checked as part of my regular exam (the good news is all is well for this 58 1/2 year old).  The eye doctor who checked me out said "on the chart it says you are the #2 top spinner in the world."  Well, I said sheepishly, I did finish second a couple times and this summer I was fortunate enough to win one of the competitions at the world championships.  He went on to ask me a whole bunch of questions after that.  It turns out that he has been to several of our Miamisburg festivals and has been watching us from the sidewalk with his two children (ages 5 and 3).  I told him about our forum in case he was interested in more information.  It just hit me that what I really need to do is drop off a top at his office with instructions on how to throw and how to get to our clubsite (itopspin.com).  I think he and his children may be joining us sometime soon at our festival!

hi all

you're right Mike, we are more a  "club" than anything else

there are no entry fees , no age limit ,no special requirements

but

there is an unwritten code of behavior based on our passion for tops , friendship ,tolerance, and respect for each other

Ha ha, ta0 and poptop.  The funny thing is, I haven't spun tops but a few times since August.  I have been doing a lot of diabolo spinning, though.

If Mr. ta0 thinks my heart might be shaped like a top, then I wonder what his heart (or any internal organ) is shaped like.  I think he has a thousand more posts than I do and who knows how many more tops than I do!

Actually, I don think any of those is right. However, my wife says that I have a top for a brain and that it is growing and starting to deform my skull into that shape . . . I guess I am becoming a Mr. Monarc look-alike (and end up at an autopsy bed in Area 51).
