Alright, we have a winner!
Takeshi's World by Rafael Matsanuga. It looked like there was going to be a tie but somebody changed his/her vote not to prolong the agony. Fewer people voted than for the first round, but I guess some members only check the forum from work
1st _ Takeshi's World 7 votes
2nd _ Splash 6 votes
3rd _ Spring Spin 5 votes
4th _ Cat in the Top Hat 2 votes
Not surprisingly, the two highest vote gatherers were photos by two serious photographers: Kyo and Rafael (Red). As Rafael is not a member of the forum, according to the rules the prize goes to the player on the photograph, Takeshi! Please, send me a pm confirming your address and I'll send you brand new Jupiter and Saturno tops from Trompo Space.
The winning photograph freezes a very fleeting but important moment on the trick, when the loop of the whip hits the tip, something that cannot be appreciated with the naked eye. And anybody who has gone to Worlds will recognize the surrounding as the very familiar Rosen Plaza. I think it is the type of picture that National Geographic could choose if they were doing an article on top spinning.
Kyo's photo was technically perfect, with the trail of flying drops showing the energy of the top. And I personally loved the third place by mtntop: a spin flower gives the first hint that winter is nearly over and the lively spring is around the corner.
Now, Takeshi, can you explain the photograph? It seems you are whipping the (untaped ?) BK by hitting the tip with the lower part of the loop and having the top go through the loop (not what I do). Is that correct?
