Say hello to our newest member

As some of you may remember from reading other posts, I work at a school in northern Ca. where the kids and I spend a lot of time happily spinning tops.  Orlando (our newest member) who is now in the third grade,and just turned 8 in September, is a very talented spin-top player.  Orlando has recently learned to catch repeated one handed lassos and can do a number of challenging tricks, including several regeneration tricks.  This year Orlando attended Nationals and won a medal in the trick ladder.  Val Oliver encouraged Orlando to perform a freestyle routine so he could show off his skills and get his feet wet for competing in the freestyle event next year.  Even though he was nervous, he got up there and gave it a go. (He's much braver than I)    Orlando has been a lurker on the forum for the past few weeks and as of yesterday is now an actual member  ;D ;D

Welcome Orlando!

Congratulations on winning a medal in the trick ladder and for having the courage to perform in freestyles!

You are indeed very fortunate to have a great mentor (SpinQueen) close by with you every day.

With such skills at your age I am sure you will be a force to be reckoned with in the future. 
Keep an eye out Chris :), and ta0, you might want to stay in retirement.  ;)

Oh oh oh Orlando!  It is great to have you with us.  Keep freestyling and keep making SpinQueen feel like she should freestyle to keep up with you.

Welcome to the board.  I started spinning when I was 8.  That was 63 years ago.  You are already way past my skill level.  Congratulations and keep spinning. ::) ::) ::) ::)
