Seattle
« on: March 23, 2011, 07:39:32 PM »

So I'm moving to Seattle in a few weeks, are their any members out that way? Does anyone know if there's any clubs or specialty toy stores that sell yoyo's and tops?
I'm gonna miss the Denver YoYo club, they're a great bunch!
Walt, I'm gonna connect with Dwight Paulsen, see if he wants to start spinning again since we'll be a few minutes away from each other.

So glad you are connecting with my old buddy from grade, High and Bible + work days.  Dwight needs someone to encourage him in his top spinning.   Maybe starting a club is in the works. 8)

I am not sure how far Portland, Oregon is from Seattle but they sure have a great juggling store run by a great guy by the name of Ben Schoenberg.  He is a wealth of information, too.  I doubt if they carry much in the way of tops but if you ask them about tops and show interest they seem like the kind of store that would try to stock some things for you.

Oh, the name of the store is "Serious Juggling" and you can always call them toll free at 1-800 JUGGLE 0 (the last digit is zero like ta0).

Thanks Jeromy K. I found the facebook page for the Seattle YoYoclub. Now if they're not spinning already, hopefully I can spark some interest.

We are going to miss Free around here, Seattle is getting a great guy and a great family. We had a really fun Top Spinning hour before yoyo club last sunday at a park near the Wizards Chest Hear are some pix , Jon was there too but I was having too much fun to take as many shots as I would have liked too.

And Darren can now make tops levitate!!

But still make it obey gravity.

I know Darren has super human top skills, but that is amazing.

I actually got to hang out and spin tops / yo-yos with Free twice. Seattle is definitely getting a great guy.

Enjoy the change of scenery.

Thanks guys, I'm looking forward to getting out there, though I'm bummed about moving away from everyone in Denver.
Thanks for posting those pics Joe, that was really awesome to spin Darren's National trophy.
Don (silvertop) I'd love to connect with your friend in Seattle when I get there but I didn't get the email. Could you try sending me the info again? Maybe in an IM.

You are leaving the current spintop capital of the US. But you can help spread the joy! Good Luck!

I miss that National Spintop Trophy: it spins so sweet!

Hi!
Could someone of you, please, give some information about the top Darren is playing in both pictures?
Who makes it? Is fixed or ballbearing tip, or both?
I would like a lot to acquire this kind of top. To me, is more or less the perfect size for a top.
I will thank a lot the information given.
Thanks

Here's the thread about that top Salvador.  It's a 5" diameter wood top by Alan Gray, it has a one way bearing tip and plays very well.
