I love it when Eric gets all into somethin'

Yep, he knows me well enough to know......So, I've done three more this week..............
For #3 I used Padauk, which is relatively light (the top weighs 75 grams), and, as I was making it I shot step-by step pictures and created a "slideshow" which you can view by going here: http://public.fotki.com/YoEric/turning-a-wooden-gu/?cmd=fs_slideshow
Here's #3:

Number #4 is made of Colorwood....because Johnm said:

Can't wait to see what's next--colorwood?

Numero Cinque is made from Black & White Ebony, and IMHO, it's the best looking one so far.  As you can see the orientation of the grain is weird, looks good but it took me almost an hour, and 2.5 grams of weight to balance it.  Now it plays as good as it looks.  Also, there's a tiny worm hole that actually runs through the side:

Here's the whole family:

That's all for now..... ;)

Eric,

Just beautiful!

What a family!
I especially love the Black & White Ebony, something about the black delrin and the black grain.

Thank you for doing the slide show!

What a treat!  ;D

Great work!  Thank you very much for pausing to take the photos in the slide show.  It is really great to see some of your equipment  8) and your process for gem cutting--to me you are truly a jeweler.

All super-awesome, and the B&W Ebony is absolutely exquisite, I'm a sucker for a-symmetrical design.
Also, The slideshow is a wonderful gift, thank you!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful :) :) :)

Im sure they play awesome, but since they are hollow, would it be a worry to drop it, I mean can it easily break?
