Frugal Top Holders?
« on: August 12, 2010, 10:25:43 AM »

Being frugal (or creative or cheap, some might say) I came up with a use for the inserts which come in delivered Pizza.
You know, the things that stop the top of the Pizza box from coming in contact with the cheese.
Here is what the Pizza holders look like in action.

That's the point of those things?! I've always wondered why they always put those things in pizza boxes. Now I know  8). Cool idea too. I think I have a leftover pizza box still in the fridge  ;D

I've used these for years.  They're also called 'Barbie tables'.  Turn them back over and they're just right for Barbies doll house.  Or use them as a top stand.  Take your pick  ;D

This is a listing from YoYo Sam - a company I really like and have ordered from several times. I found it while I was looking for Spintastics auctions hoping to find some used QSH tops.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Spin-Top-Display-Stand-by-Spintastics-Made-of-Plastic/372479065965?epid=13025044653&hash=item56b97b7f6d:g:6AoAAOSw0QBbz0jb

It looks like they are being sold individually for $4.99. Shipping is $3.70. $8.69 each. There is no way anyone would be dumb enough to buy these, right? They do make good holders to display tops and I'm using several for that purpose. It's shameful to offer them at this price as a vendor and I would be very surprised if they sold any.

Is this really a Spintastics product offering?

Pizza savers can be purchased on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/Royal-Tabletop-Pizza-Saver-Case/dp/B007SNILOY/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=WWKR1MT7X0NN&keywords=pizza+table+stand&qid=1560096619&s=gateway&sprefix=pizza+table%2Caps%2C491&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1

0.0286 cents each. Maybe someone can figure out the markup on these for YoYo Sam.

Beyond Stupid. Maybe YOYOSAM did this as an April Fools' Day joke and forgot to take it down?

Hmmm.  That is a mystery unless they are made of gold or something special.  Maybe a Barbie doll comes with each order?

I still use the plastic shot glasses for stands.  24 cups for $1 at the Dollar Tree.

From a 2002 archived page of Infinite Illusions:

$1 for 2 was a very good margin but still reasonable.

I suspect that the error on the Yoyo Sam page is that you get not 1 but perhaps a pack of 10.

Yes, I remember those on the Spintastics website back in the day.  I don't recall the price.
I like the shot glass idea. How about communion cups?
