Interested in the member feedback and impressions of Roy Campbell's tops.
http://www.roystopshop.com/
I have purchased the 3 styles he makes and love the feel and looks of them.
To me the exotic wood Satellites are works of art.
His tops have been great fun for the people I introduce top spinning to (Co-workers in the US and India).

I have known about Roy for a long time and last year we exchanged some emails when he corrected an error in my link page and I asked him about the Guinness World Record attempts.  I recall bidding on auctions he used to regularly have on Ebay about ten years ago.  So I went looking for my Campbell top and . . . surprise!: it seems I never got one! I'll have to correct that soon . . .  ::)

Tomymoonly,

Yes the Acrylic is good.

It is heavy and it took a little practice to be comfortable with it.
(Scary too, I did not want to scratch it!)
I have not weighed it but it is definitely heavier than the Spintastics Trompo Bearing Spin Top.

Roy might correct me, but I think his "Production" wooden top is a variation on my wooden peg top from The Toycrafter.  That wooden top was in turn - ;-) - modeled on the Monarch!  We used to supply Roy with our wooden tops - not sure where he might be getting them now?  (actually I think I know, but will keep the info to myself)
