Spira-Chalk Blaster
« on: May 28, 2010, 07:03:14 PM »

There is a TV ad campaign in this market for the Crayola Spira-Chalk Blaster.

It is the product featured on the Crayola site: washable sidewalk Spira-Chalk Blaster

It is the old idea of the drawing top, jumbo size. Looks like it has a good inertial ring and it may be fun. It could be used for a target game, top battle or maybe even with a whip  ;D

You know, I just saw that commercial and was thinking about posting something about that.  Jorge is always one step ahead of me.  Well.......when it comes to the physics of top spinning he is many steps ahead of me!!!

OK!  I look forward to doing some Spira-Chalk blasting.  I will bring the world's largest collection of rascals and we can spin those like crazy.  They make a great chime sound when you get a bunch of them going.

I was thinking about mentioning this earlier. I was in Toys-R-Us a couple of days ago and saw this chalk top. There's also a smaller chalk top now with a trigger release. I might get the larger top eventually and art up my sidewalk.

I already have been trying to throw them with a string, with some success on the ground but not with the boomerang. Unfortunately the Crayola chalk splits very easily. I am thinking in exchanging them with wood sticks. Also they are easy to trapeze but the friction with the crayola kills the spin very fast, besides leaving the string "chalky".
