But practicing with the peg tops is also a very pleasant activity, I very seldom stop just because I do not feel like playing more.
How about your throw top practice Iacopo? Are you still enjoying it, are you making progress?

The best activity (In my opinion) Is combing the two: turning peg tops to practice with!

Yes, I practiced, noy very much, but I did...
Now I can throw the top successfully, almost always.  Sometimes I can catch the top in mid air with my hand.
But I am far away from the excellent players here, you too are quite ahead of me, I remember your video.
I enjoy building things above all, I think it must be written in my DNA that I am an artisan essentially.

That sounds good! I think you mean that trick they call "boomerang" around here.
May I suggest to learn also "sky rocket" (  youtu.be/pBNkzrJzxHM?t=21 ). And work towards improving your boomerang success rate. As they often say around here: "to the non top player you are an expert if you can do the boomerang".
Once you are there, there are some easier tricks that can be quickly learned if you still enjoy the play.

Yes, the "boomerang", I didn't remember the name..
I tried the "sky rocket" a few times, without success, Jorge too showed me it.
I will improve by the time, (slowly).
