It seems you were going to try a whip at the end. ....
Yes  I did not manage a proper whip in that session, I did not practice that lately. When cutting the video I realized that I still need a trapeze on video to go with my goals list, so I took that one as a trapeze. Of course I did not really get away with that with you guys!

...
You can learn upside-down MGR and Hop the Fence in an hour if you have the right instructions.

Those are on my bearing top list and I only seldom took up a bearing top lately. I was mainly busy with regeneration.
But having the right instructions sounds good! What do you charge for a 45 minutes lesson in a zoom session?  ;D

This is one of the random questions:

How is an upward wirewalker done? I do not even recall the correct name, but I am talking of something for example Mark showed us here:
https://www.ta0.com/forum/index.php/topic,6772.msg74806.html#msg74806
I am sure I have seen some other videos  of that trick, but not knowing the name makes it hard to find them again.
Maybe you can give me some tips how to get it working. I tried with a STB which works well for me doing horizontal wirewalkers from one hand to the other. When I try to let it walk upwards I always end in just choking the spin out of that top.
Is the type of top that crucial? Should I rather try it with a koma or some other type of top? Mexican style top, wooden top, big top, small top? Any recommendation regarding the string used? Is there a better way to set it up than the simple enough version in that video I linked above?

The most elegant way getting into it is the trick we call in English "Elevator". Is one of the iconic tricks done by Mexican demonstrators, who call it "Ascensor":

(there is some confusion on the names, you can read all about it here).

You look even cooler with this car:

Neff did a version where he climbs directly from a trapeze and overshoots the upper hand, to fall back to a trapeze. He called it Skywalker:

The tip shape, the string diameter and the weight of the top are all important. Mexican tops are generally fast wire walkers and are also light, what helps with this trick.

I just tried with two different Spin Top Beast's: STB 2.1 (all plastic, 2 parts, tip with flat neck) and STB 2.5 (metal crown, diabolo tip). I used the same string.
It worked well with the STB 2.5 but it didn't work with the STB 2.1.
That was in spite of the fact that the STB 2.5 is the heavier one!

The STB I was referring to, is the STB 2.5 with the "new" big tip (the one that was introduced more ore less at the time Augusta was also introduced) installed.

In the next few days I will give the Mexican top I got from Gus a chance.

If I make no progress with that one, I will go the cool car route.  ;)
