OK, resistance is now futile. Where can I buy a decent beginner pair? Willing to order from SpinGear if necessary.

Love the action in this kind of beigoma play -- the throws, the spiraling orbits around the arena, the collisions, the recoveries, the falls. Just the right mix of of surprise and predictability.
Art is how we decorate space, music is how we decorate time ... and with spinning tops, we decorate both.

Hi Jeremy,
Yay!!! A new beigoma player! Hahaha yeah these tops are hard to resist especially if you like modifying things! SpinGear is probably the best place to get beigoma fast shipping and good customer service.

If you want a pair that move similar to the ones in the video I would suggest the Kakuroku or letter type: https://spingear.jp/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=983

The letter beigoma come with decent string and have an nice protective coating.

If you plan on using a full size beyblade arena or large storage lid to play on I would suggest the Seki Kogyo Beigoma:

https://spingear.jp/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=2247

The Seki Kogyo Beigoma are larger than the letter type and easier to wind. They do weigh quite a bit and hit really hard safety glasses are advised.

You can also find beigoma on ebay be warned though, the letter type beigoma advertisements look like they come with multiple tops but it only comes with one.

If you have any questions or need launching tips let me know I would be happy to help!

Nice battle! Where did you get the arena?

I really like your twin shark model. The color adds a lot!

In my opinion eBay is probably the easiest place, but spingear has more variety at slightly lower prices.

@Joah: Thanks for the buying guide. Building a SpinGear order now.

What do you think of these much larger MECHABEY tops?

Despite their much larger inertias, the action remains very beigoma-like. You'll be shocked to hear that I'm particularly drawn to the modular versions...

Thanks! Twin Shark is my favorite too, I love the pattern it makes when it spins. Here's a link the arena I use:https://www.ebay.com/itm/264296491557

@Jeremy McCreary Awesome, I hope you have fun with them! I've always wanted to get my hands on a MECHABEY top they look amazing! I follow them on Instagram and they share a lot great vids showing off their top's performance. From what I've seen they are very high precision and can spin for a very long time! Hahaha yeah the modular parts look to be very well designed. I believe you can swap out the blade/weight for different movement patterns... here's a link to their web page https://mechabey.jp/
It has a lot of great info and google translate works... kinda??
