Wilson informed me that they have programmed the 2021 Colombian National Trompo Contest for July 10th and 11th in Sogamoso, Boyacá.
It's nice to see that in-person contests are starting again.  :)
After the success of Colombian players at the virtual contest last year, I imagine there's going to be a lot of excitement. And with a current Colombian World Champ it should be easy to get good media coverage.

The Colombian National Contest was moved to this coming Sunday. All the usual suspects will be there. I hear that Bryan and Herney have been practicing hard, so should be epic.

Wilson will send me some photos and videos, but these were the results:

Event winners:
Calle: Juan Diego Aries
Rayuela: Vladimir Molina
Figuras: Brian Felipe Gaspar

Overall:
1st - Juan Diego Aries
2nd - Farid Bermudez
3rd - Jader Mona

I believe Herney could not attend but Juan Diego Aries is a 22-year old from the same town. I have not met him.
For the overall title the scores of each contest were added. Gaspar was 4th overall as he did not do well on the other two contests.

Oscar sent me some photos.

Brian (Felipe) Gaspar was presented with the trophy for the Traditional Top Freestyle that he won last year at the ITSA World Online Contest:

Also Oscar and Maldonado got their world medals:

I believe this is Juan Diego Aries receiving his first place national trophy:

This is Farid receiving his second place trophy. As you can see, there were also cash prizes!

Here is a video of the competition showing a 12-year old player, Juan Miguel (Heno Geraldo?). He comes from the town of San Vicente de Ferrer, Antoquia, that cradle of top players from where Herney, Carlos Galvis, and the new champ, Juan Diego Aries, came.

Herney was not there.

I was sent this video of a young player Juan training (I don't know his name). As you can see, he is very good and he does regenerate:

If Juan becomes an ITSA member this year (likely, as I imagine he would like to compete on the online contest), I think this photo will win hands down the photo contestÑ
