Sorry Cuper about your disqualification.  I also was once disqualified in a world contest.  I believe we are part of a very small club.
Happiness runs in a circular motion!!!

Congratulations to the finalists!

I will later also post the players who got some votes to be in the finals but didn't make them (pre-finalists?).

We are setting up a system for the finalists to vote. I will send them an email when we have it ready.
If a finalist doesn't vote, he is disqualified, so it's very important for finalist to rank the best other 5 freestyles in their division(s).
I added links to the performances to the results page https://spintops.org/2020-world-results/

All the players who participated should be proud. It takes courage to be willing to be judged. I plan to feature some of those performances in this thread in the coming days.

I am humbled to be on this list. There are some names that I think should be added to those lists, but I would not remove any either. What a tough job! Thank you for your work, Review Panel, whoever you are.

Wooo estar en los 10 finalistas de una gran lista de buenos competidores ,mi siento muy feliz y honrado gracias a todos ,y los jueces son tendió tarea difícil pffff felicidades

Every finalist should have received an email with a link to vote. Please contact us if you haven't.

The most dangerous trick (to the player), was probably the last trick from Rocco Costa, "Il Trottolaio":

Crazy, but a great guy. Thanks for representing Italy!

I guess I forgot to mention who the judges were  :-[
Freestyles: Dale, Jakub, Jim Boehm, Jose Madrigal, Mark Hayward, Pepe and Val
Ladder: ta0
Next time we will have at least one Japanese judge, for sure.

So many great videos! It was impressed with all the great tricks. You all have inspired me. Thanks to all who submitted videos.

I have posted also the pre-finalist list: players who got some votes towards the finals. One thing to consider is that because of the large quantity of videos, they had to be divided into groups that different pairs of judges watched. The Review Panel tried so balanced them fairly by region and also anticipated level of play, but this was impossible to predict perfectly. For example, Gus was a group head, but he finally did not submit a video. So some groups may have been more difficult than others.

Both Miki and Taka have placed in the podium before and this time were "pre-finalists" (Taka on both divisions). Their freestyles are worth watching.

Miki does a beautiful performance. I wish I could tell what he is saying. I guess it's a story or a poem. I know he writes poems because he gave several of us a handwritten one in Cleveland.

Taka's routine is based on the kyokugoma perfomances, a Japanese tradition 300 years old, plus some very nice chonkakegoma moves.

Hi all
The review panel preparing the "packs"
"Old school" :D (and lots of work) but fair.

I would like to continue highlighting performances that did not make the finals, as it's difficult to watch everyone.
Here are two of the most unique, from two countries that had never participated in the world contest before.

From India, Mackwin Melwin Baptist.

From the Philippines, the mysterious Trumpo Maskter:

By the way, as of this morning, 4 out of 10 finalists on each division have already voted.

Tao - is the answer to your quiz 5?  ;)

The videos are all so fun to watch. I keep going back and seeing new things in them!

The landscapes in the videos Taka uploaded were stunning. I enjoyed the beautiful, and fun music as well. Everyone's skill and creativity and excitement for top spinning really came through the screen. I've attended one World competition as a spectator and while I won't compare the two energies together, I will say they were both pretty awesome in their own ways :)

Great job to everyone involved  :-*

That's my count of female competitors. I have Kumiko Suzuta, Erina Yoshikawa, Yukiho Kiriyu, Diva Fabiola Cortes, and you!  ;)
Diva is the daughter of Oscar. And I'm guessing Yukiho is either the sister or the mother of Akira.

With an online contest we can have enough women for a women division (of course, their videos would also enter the open divisions).

As Taka already mentioned, Kumiko at 74 years old had a zero mistake routine:
