Joah

Hello Spintop community! My name's Joah and I'm new here. My style of play is usually battletops but I am learning a few tricks...I'm up to 4 lasso/rollercoasters! I am also a maker and have been working on 3D printed Beigoma (post coming soon)...
Here's my collection(I excluded my Beyblades too many to fit in the pic)

Welcome to the forum, Joah!
You came to the right place!

The Sidewiinders and the Short Circuit are good learning tops. But for rollercoaster regens a heavier top will make learning easier.

Thanks I'm happy to be here!
I am looking into getting a heavier top any suggestions? Would Spingears' Koma V 5 which weighs 72.5 grams be heavy enough?

Texture

Hey, Joah! Welcome! You can learn A LOT about tops being a member of this forum.
For roller coaster I suggest A Hollowpoint (HP) Hornet, which is what I used to learn. You can get them at a lower price right now on scienceofspin.com.

I like your 3-D beigomas! Never seen anything like them before.  8)

Texture is right. I learned regeneration with the Hollow Point which was a forerunner of the Hornet. At $18 it's a steal. I see they have ran out of Quicksilvers which are also great (and can accept the better diabolo tip).

I just looked up the Hollow Point and man what a sweet top with that aluminum shell. Nice I do like things that can be modded I will keep an eye out for the Quicksilver! Thank you for the suggestions. By the way your trick videos on your website has been super helpful!

Hi Jim
Thanks! Sometimes I play target, that was how I got left hand launching down... Lately though I've been doing 1v1 best of three battles since that's my families favorite version of beigoma. Most of my experience comes from battling Koma tops. Do you battle?

Welcome Joah. My collection looked similar to yours when I started out  :)

I make an oversized top that I feel is very good for learning regenerations, but it is at a higher price point. If you get a chance, check out the Sweetle at spintopworshop.com

Watts' Tops

Hello to you as well.  Have in invite you to watch Watts top 295.  A larger top spun by an expert.  He does very well. :)
