very sad news
« on: May 23, 2020, 04:47:24 AM »

dear friends and fellow players

sorry , so sorry to announce that my dear wife died last tuesday ,
after a cancer (...°), aged 62
my daughters and I are trying to survive through sadness, tears and distress
family , freinds and comrades support us with strength, Lapin just spent
2 days with me during the last hours of agony

Marielle has always approved my crazy life of stunt kite team member,
president of france YoYo, and artist squat activist , why ?
because she had also a very active life , master degree at ecole du louvre ,
illustrator for the museum of natural sciences
and of course stylist , making clothes and hats for pleasure
when the girls were young we had 2 sewing machines in full power ,
one the kites and the other for fashion items

funerals next week in the south of france

I'm very, very sorry, Jim. She was special indeed.
I knew you could not attend Loon Plage this year because of her illness but I was still shocked when I got your email the other day.
I only met her briefly a couple of times but I could tell she was a very nice person.
You were very lucky to marry a woman who would be your partner for so many years and go along with your eccentric hobbies.
I'm sure she was very proud (as you are) of raising two beautiful and smart women who are now young entrepreneurs.
My heart goes to the girls and you, my friend.

That is very sad news.  I had no idea she was sick or feeling ill.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Jim, and also with your daughters.  I am glad you have them with you at this time and also have other good friends around you.

Even though we usually only meet together through simple words on this forum, and we are miles and miles apart, I still feel close to you in many ways.  We will grieve with you and have good memories of Marielle.  She sounds like quite a woman.  I wish I knew her better.

Peace, spin brother!!!

My condolences, Jim. May your memories of her guide you through this time.

My sentiments as well.

I met your wife once and only briefly, but she struck me as a kind, strong, and interesting woman. She went far too soon, my friend.

We never truly get over the death of someone we love. All we can do is try to get through it as best we can. My sympathies to you and your family, Jim. Life's greatest blessing is to love someone who loves you right back.

hi all and thanx again for the kind words
i'm catching up with the normal world, back in paris...
funerals very thoughtful in a tiny tiny church in the Corrèze region where everyone has a name finishing by " ac ": theillac, arnac, soubirac, meillac ,cahuzac and chirac (former french president)
I took part in the homily, with poems I know by heart, I had to control my breath not to weep
music at the entry: the hymn Jerusalem, out of the church: here comes the sun/ beatles
and at the cemetery in the open , the complete album charlie mingus Ah Hum
the day after we planted some of the flowers, flew a kite and that was it

cheers

Glad you made it through the funeral.  That can be very very tough.

The hymn Jerusalem?  That was in the movie Chariots of Fire!  Sure love the Beatles and Here Comes the Sun.

Charlie Mingus?  How about that.  I learned a little about him through Joni Mitchell.  That is some serious jazz.  He has a lot of material recorded out there.  Which album did you play?

So sorry to hear of you and your daughters' loss.  It sounds like a wonderful funeral, if that adjective applies to any funeral.  Love to you and yours.
