Dazzling Dave and Dylan Kowalski have collaborated to make two videos, one on being a yo-yo professional and this one, where Dave teaches Dylan the mechanics of throwing a big top. Nice work guys!

Fun video!

I would disagree with the advice "to pull at the end of the string". For large tops you start to pull earlier. You only jerk at the end of the string for small tops.
With Figaro I start pulling as soon as it leaves my hand.

Most likely the weight that affects how early you pull. ColOmbian tops aren't to big but supper heavy. I feel like you have to pull right away or else you will have to lunge (unsuccessfully) to get the top. With my 4.5" you wait to pull till the end.

I'll say it so taO doesn't have to... ColOmbian.
I think it has more to do with density than overall weight.

Great video thanks for sharing. All tops are fun - but when you get the big ones outside it's magic. Double body cork screw Dave? Thanks for sharing.
