Diabolo Style Giulia Tip
« on: June 12, 2019, 11:22:01 AM »

Things have been crazy for the past little while, I finally got actual power to my shop/garage (no more extension cords strewn across the lawn!), and got myself a little metal lathe!  Decided to put it to the test on my first major(ish) spin top project, making a diabolo style tip for my Giulia top!  Took me a few hours and works great, though this is more of a prototype and I'm going to make some minor adjustments, overall I'm very happy with the feel over the normal Strummol8 tip.  The diabolo tip grips the string better while not being grabby, and I can wrap the string multiple times without it coming off as easy (would have been nice for some of the gyro tricks from TA0's patch). Hopefully I'll be using this to finish the rest of the TA0 Patch tricks soon.

Here it is compared to a QSH with the diabolo tip, I'm going to tweak the angles just a hair to match up better with the brass Diabolo tip.
