Hello Pulp!  Good to hear from you.  I did not see the game but all the reports I read talked about how close the game was and how well the young team from Spain played.  The group is progressing quickly.  USA was fortunate to advance.  You may be right about that second penalty!!!

Gotta love the great header that put France back in the game.  And then the relentless attacking until the finish!  It was an exciting match.  Once again, USA is fortunate to still be playing.

USA Today paper for July 1st says "France lost to USA but a big winner off field."

Kylian Mbappe states "You may have lost the Cup, but you've certainly won the hearts of the French."

The coach for France, Corinne Diacre said "I hope we have attained something else tonight and hope we have won over the hearts and minds of the public.  I hope this will help the women's game go further."

I think you meant US vs the Neatherlands.

Sunday are also the finals of the Gold Cup between US and Mexico and the Copa America between Brazil and Peru.

I think you meant US vs the Netherlands.
of course i did , to me ,as a Mediterranean they are all "from the north" :D

anyway, the final was pleasant to watch : good pressing of the us in the 1st half , well organized defence from the Dutch , and a super goal keeper (keeperess??in BTLG nov-lang  >:D  ?)
in the second half the penalty shoot made a difference, although not obvious because the girl "plays the ball" not the body, but after that we had a very excellent sequence and a super goal at 30 meters :worthy of any top striker in the euro league

congratulations US TEAM you deserve the trophy
