Unidentified flying tops
« on: May 27, 2019, 04:40:51 PM »

Yesterday, the New York Times reported strange top-like flying objects picked up by seasoned Navy fighter pilots on training missions off the US east coast in 2014-2015. No joke. For several months, different pilots came across and tracked these things almost daily!

The Navy confirms the encounters and even released video shot by onboard F/A-18 cameras (at link above). They call them "unexplained aerial phenomena" (UAPs) instead of UFOs but still have no explanation. At first, these UAPs were just jetliner-sized radar blips flying in ways impossible for any known or conceivable aircraft. Nor could any human pilot survive the observed accelerations.

When pilots finally made visual contact, one described what he saw as a flying "spinning top".

So our hobby might be more than just international. It could be intergalactic! :o
