These are some great photos I spotted on Flickr.

This is from Northern Thailand. It looks like a whip top.

This was taken in Puri, India.

The group here is a Flickr group with a zillion photos of tops -- including many vintage and art tops like the ones you see in large collections. The admin goes by "sr_formica". A short way down his Flickr page is a shot of ta0 with Figaro!

The group here is a Flickr group with a zillion photos of tops -- including many vintage and art tops like the ones you see in large collections. The admin goes by "sr_formica". A short way down his Flickr page is a shot of ta0 with Figaro!
His name is Dani Miras and he is one of the members of the Barcelona collectors club, "Associació Amics de la Baldufa", www.baldufa.com. I visited them in 2009 and he took that photo then.

The text accompanying this photo is sad. It says that this 4 year-old boy was playing with his top in a market of Lima, but his sister took it because he had to work. Later the photographer found the boy selling cheese and he said his mother had thrown the top into the river . . .
