wirewalkers+basket
« on: December 28, 2018, 03:07:19 AM »

salut la Compagnie !

two medium wirewalkers filmed a week ago :nothing extraordinary , but a good light ..
the tiles on the floor were very slippery
now i'm trying to make the top do a curve, like at a 90° angle
it doesn't work with just a pole, i think the nylon line should be manipulated by a helper
we'll try that in Marines for sure ////

have fun watching

It is neat to see a top drop into a container but there is something special about a top that hits the wall and then falls into a basket.  Nice job.  Thanks for the laughs!!!

Would you post a close up photo of the top? I am interested in giving this a try but I'm unclear regarding the requirements for an effective wire walking tip. I have several tops that are similar to yours but I suspect I will need to modify the tip to be successful.

That's a great idea! I think with a helper you should be able to make it work.

This looks to be from China:

Top is about 4 1/2 diameter Red Oak and Poplar wood hallow. Big tip with about 1/2 neck = 121 feet. About 18 pound fishing line.

hello butterFingers
following your request :Would you post a close up photo of the top? I am interested in giving this a try but I'm unclear regarding the requirements for an effective wire walking tip. I have several tops that are similar to yours but I suspect I will need to modify the tip to be successful.

about the tips
in this vid the 2 most common tips appear
the thin one which i use and the fat one which gives a faster wirewalker
with more torque

at exactly 025" from the start

hope it helps

A stock Spintastic spin top.

Is this the C tip or the A tip ?? The C tip feels pretty bad at wirewalking with a big string ( like we use for regenerations play )

Thanks for the info cecil!
