• All-Japan trick koma contest: March 24, 2019

The Japanese koma association (yantya.yokochou.com) has announced the 6th national contest:




Sunday March 24th in Tokyo.
If I understand correctly, the competition itself is a ladder (6 level or Dan) but there will be exhibition freestyles afterwards (preparations for worlds  ).

As it's taking place in Tokyo, Taka himself must be organizing it. I'm sure we'll get to see pictures and video.

I will be there and will be highest level contest ever.Just have ladder as contest and do some free style as exhibition.
Will make report and post picture and videos a lot.

Great to see Kanta Tani and Ko (Aoi Kiyama) again!
Kanta's finger landings (a la Takeshi) are impressive. I guess his music has copyright issues and you had to dub it.
I need to try Ko's hanger prop!
Ziko is really good! I first thought he was Shun Shinamura. I hope we see him competing at worlds soon.
The future of koma play is in sure hands, with Kotaro Akasaka (paddle koma anyone?) and Genki Furukawa (he looks like Nobu) coming after Kanta.

Do you know if there is a resource like spintricks for komas ( other than hunting for contest videos and learning from that ) ?
I can do "a la una", arm walkers and grinds... but I don't really know what's possible per say.

Tsutomu Takeda (Takechan) was again Japan national champ (4th time?) with 68 points on the 6 Dan
Kanta Tani was second, also with 68 points and his brother Nao Nari Tani was third with 66 points.
It seems that after two qualifying rounds it took 45 minutes to decide between the 7 finalist, who drew by lottery tricks from the 4th to 6th Dan.
Hiroko Fujita (Yoshihito's wife) was first in the women division.
