Takeshi strikes again.  I do not know if this has been posted or not.....well, at least I have not seen it and I could not find it on the search engine.  Anyway, here goes:

I have seen this before. Thank you for posting it here. There is a lot to love. I especially like the forearm launch that starts the video. I have seen several excellent videos where he performs .... all that I have seen are using a Bearing King.

Wonderful! I had not seen it. Thanks! I believe I had seen the video still several times but I assumed it was the same video of Takeshi that Kuma had done before.
The slow motion is sweet.

I'm so happy to see Takeshi playing tops. One of the best innovators. I hope to see him again at one of our events.

I just don't like the wording "oddly satisfying".  Nothing odd to me.  It seems obviously satisfying to me.

Please, we are not like the rest of the world, we are more amazing!!!

Seems pretty odd to me that top-like spinning things have been captivating humans for going on 5,500 years.

I think a lot of the fascination has to do with the emergence of complexity from apparent simplicity. This goes far beyond the top's ability to stand against gravity, which we've all learned not to bet against in daily life. Gyroscopic stability, precession, and self-righting are easy to observe and play with in tops but counterintuitive and unexpected nonetheless.

Gaining some control over such a quirky thing is icing on the cake.

But no shame in being bamboozled by tops: Physics grad students typically find rotational motion harder to grasp than quantum mechanics or relativity. And Richard Feynman -- a physicist commonly ranked with Newton, Maxwell, and Einstein -- noted in his famous textbook that some physical phenomena are much easier to "understand" mathematically than they are to truly grasp at a gut level. The occasion was the chapter on rotational motion, and the math there wasn't exactly easy.
Art is how we decorate space, music is how we decorate time ... and with spinning tops, we decorate both.

The video has over 1,200 comments, almost all extremely positive!  :o  8) That is incredible for any video on youtube.
There is a lot of amazement and love for the magic of tops (and the magician that plays with them).
If you want to feel good about tops and your hobby, I suggest you read some of them.

After close study of both videos, I've concluded that this Takeshi is really an alien from an advanced top-playing civilization. In which case, the mother ship can't be far away. Sure hope we don't taste like chicken to them!

Yes, that is an amazing amount of comments!!!  It was neat to read all the positive notes.  It is interesting how so many think a top is a yoyo.

Here is a rip-off of the Kuma video, stretched to get rid of their logo and with another logo and audio. The interesting thing is that it's in Marathi language (according to Google Translate) which (according to Wikipedia) is the official language and co-official language in the Maharashtra and Goa states of Western India. Takeshi is a world cultural treasure!  ;D

Fortunately, one can recognize Takeshi's name, so they do give credit to the player (unless they claim he is Marathi!  :-\ ).
In Shanghai, Dale commented that he wished Takeshi would return to the contests, "because he is so good". He was really impressed by the boomerang to the finger on the video.

By the way, the third word on the title is Bhoora, that means vortex or top in Marathi.

Well, on Youtube it has almost 1,350,000 views and 2,000 comments now.  :) 8)

But the same video on Facebook has an outstanding 121,536,000 views!  :o :o :o :o :o

I hope Takeshi (and not just Kuma o Facebook) gets some of the ad revenue, because that many views can translate into serious money.

Wow, so glad I read into this post! At first I assumed it was the older one; which I've watched a bunch of times.

Dale is right that Boomerang to Fingertip is  :o !!!

I don't think I had watched the "behind the scenes" video before for the first (second on this thread) Kuma video of Takeshi. If you go to 13:08, there is a long interview of him, with video of his early days skateboarding.

By the way, the Youtube version of the Odly Satisfying video has  now over 6 million views. The Facebook version increased a little to 135 million views, with 1.7 million likes/wows/loves.
