good morning fishing
« on: July 25, 2018, 12:49:57 AM »

yesterday morning good fishing on the rocks , just down the road
my gear : a bamboo rod ,a line , two hooks , a small lead
 the bait : shells
timing between 6 and 8 am

the "rascasse" I caught almost broke the line (5lbs), I had to walk in the water to give some slack
and finally managed to throw the beast on the rocks

 fish soup last night  ;)

Ah, the good life! Somebody is enjoying his retirement  :)

Don't they have poisonous spines those scorpionfish?
But the one on the photos doesn't look like a "5 lb monster" Or was it a 5lb line?  :-\

I guess the soup was a bouillabaisse.

yes they do: i got stung once and it's painful like a wasp sting

 was it a 5lb line?  :-\

yes that's what I meant: 5lbs line... with no floater ,when it bites you can feel the fish tugs, and react accordingly....
it's low-tech fishing , but it's super fun (when you know where to play)

ps you can't beat the taste of a piece of corsican cheese at 8am after fishing :P

I have to say that I'm a little disappointed in you, jim. You had this fish on a string, and you didn't spin it up and do a wire walker with it on the spot? What were you thinking?  >:D

Looks like a meal fit for a king....or even an emperor.  Wouldn't Napoleon have eaten a meal like this on many occasions?

I did it again  :)

hi all

yesterday morning was quite prolific:
same spot , same time ,same gear, different bait (squid)
the lot makes 520 grams, a record for me ! :-)

besides ,when looking at the same rocks washed by water for a long time ,
you can discover many things that you do not see when you simply pass around
shells , prawns ,hermit crabs, sea weeds   etc

good day

eh eh another one at the wrong place at the right time! (5.45am)

it was delicious , grilled "rare" à la plancha, with some lemon
