Yomega Yo-Top
« on: January 23, 2010, 10:34:22 AM »

"It is a YoYo... It's a Top. It is two toys in one." . . . it is half two toys . . .

Oops, when I finally decided to do a "review" of this toy, I found it has been discontinued by Yomega (you can still find it for sale in some places). Anyway, I guess the only interest here is for any-top collectors. As a hybrid (P213 attempt?) is of course terrible. The yoyo gap is super-narrow and many of the yo-yo tricks described on the booklet that comes with it are impossible. But you can to the very basics and it sleeps ok. The top tip is nonexistent, it spins on the vertex of the cone.  It reminds me the Delta [YO]2 just a shorter cone. One good thing is that you can throw it on the ground with the string easier than a standard throw top.  And you can still do the self-winding P213 trick. As a beyblade top it works fine as the power spinner is powerful. And if you throw it with the string it is closer to the idea of beigoma battle.
