I am very happy that others are doing Wizard's Gyro. I can see that such a trick is right up your alley
By the way, Diego told me it is cooler with the apostrophe "wizard's gyro" instead of just "wizard gyro".
You have tried it with more tops than I have. In principle it should work with any top but, yes, some will be more difficult to bewitch. With a heavy top like the QS you will have to pull a lot to make it reverse the precession. At the end of the video you can see the mark the string left on my thumb from pulling very hard. I believe (and the little testing I did seems to confirm it) that a thicker string will let you apply less force. Also, it is very critical that the string doesn't overlap on the tip in a way that cancels the torque. It is this torque that offsets the torque of gravity (that has a much longer lever).
