old game
« on: October 30, 2017, 12:55:55 AM »

hi all

i ve just found this old game in a street market here in Ajaccio:it's called BA-TA-CLAN
i really like the scary faces and despite its bad condition it still works
you can see the launcher in the front and it throws marbles
the targets are the windows or the cups
100 if you score the top cup

What a lucky find! ...I think it's beautiful. And condition looks good to me. It's been used and loved. Isn't that what toys are for? Don't mourn the condition flaws. Rather, celebrate the 'patina'. Your new acquisition is one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time. Thanks for posting it for us to see.

I agree with butterfingers, the condition looks pretty good. Nice graphics!

This reminds me the Frog Game (Juego de la Rana) that was one of the games during the tournament in Colombia I attended. I was surprised that a game that required such an elaborate device, and therefore is difficult to standardize, would be used in a competition (these were the regional finals). I did not take a picture, but they were similar to this one:

I have lots of good memories of marble launching games from my childhood days.  Glad you found that and are enjoying it!
