Very nice. It's good to see a big top in action. You can see a lot for of what's going on. Thanks for sharing.?

I experimented today with the differences between the two wraps around the tip. Eli's version does have more of a tendency to escape the string, but it seems that if you move forward the left hand it is easier to do (while for the one I showed it is better to move the left hand towards you). I did not find a significant different in smoothness, but perhaps I should try with a lighter Mexican top (I was using my trusted HP).
One thing that may help is learning first the triangle version (we need a good name for it), where the string forms a big triangle. It seems to me that keeping the triangle open forces your left hand to do the right movement.

Hmm, still working on my own way, I have at the moment a limited internet access as I"m in full working season, but at least I can find some time to practice to integrate the top in my actual show...
Now I will download this video to study it well, guess progresses will come soon...
At the moment I still have lot of problem to start it, once on few throws I can stabilize it to enjoy some turns (more than a few) so I"m sure this video will help...
Thanks again for those videos I will give some progress news in few days/weeks...

Ok got it finally! Thanks to you all guys!
As you can see on this short shoot, I'm still struggling with the few first turns but it works...

To be honest it makes me feel like "a dog who never learn to swim", it feels like I always knew it and I'm sure I was doing it exactly the same but it actually took me 2 people advise and 2 other's videos...
But, to answer the question yeaaaaaah it's f**ng great to run!!! Hope I can still do other tricks...

:D

Mermouy: I was referring to becoming dizzy from following the top as it goes around. If I do a lot of them, it does make me dizzy, although I think not as much as in the beginning.   :P

Mermouy, while I can't do this yet, it looks to me like you have this down pretty good. Congrats on your progress!

I have been working on this trick for a long time. I can do One Revolution and then the Top flies off the string. I noticed last year at the Miamisburg Spintop Festival that Eli wraps his string around the tip different than JohnM while doing this trick. I'm still working on this trick and hope one day I will finally get it down.

If it shoots off it is because the top is still spinning too fast to do the trick.  IMO.

Yeah, control is ok now, 3/4 well started and slowly feeling the regeneration working (need few time for this as any regeneration trick I guess) that's why I use S8 to practice this trick actually I use owb to get the very moment of regeneration...
Of course the QSH have been tested and liked!
Also, it took me a bit of time, but I finally integrated top in my street show! I hope I will be able to get a shoot of it...
