Good idea.  And, not sure, but maybe that kind of glass could be a bit more scratch resistant than common glass.

Hadn't thought of that. Guessing the glass is hardened, but  can't really confirm scrath-resistance, as all my tips are ABS plastic.

Interestingly, these tips encounter more friction on some glasses than others. This platter is better than most.

Ah, my evil scheme is working! >:D

I salvaged my platter from a microwave that died a couple years ago. Perhaps you could arrange for yours to have an "accident". My cousins Guido and Vinnie from New Jersey would be happy to help you with that for a small fee.
