Wooden spintop with aluminum-mesh/resin-fill embellishments. Southeast Asian Amboyna Burl, African Blackwood, Turquoise spin-point and rose engine turnings. One-of-a-kind and first of it's kind as far as I know...enjoy:

I have rarely seen such an aesthetic combination of woods and textures
ED !! You're a master crafter :!

about your first attempts at vids:2 tips

you could use a concave mirror to keep the top in the center
you could improve the spintime a lot by a friction of both hands holding the top
 ;) ;)
thanx for showing

Embedding a wire mesh is quite unique. Beautiful work!

Super nice!

I wonder if you could make a pattern decoration that is only visible as phosphorescence or fluorescence . I think it would be cool.

That's the UV flashlight I was using to super-charge the glow material. Seems to work better/faster than normal fluorescent, incandescent or LED lights.

That's generally the way it works in phosphorescent materials that emit visible light.
