Counterweights are used on large airplane wings. Both tungsten and depleted uranium have been used.
I asked the good guys at radioactivethings.com and this is the answer I got:

The only way to determine whether it is DU or Tungsten is with a Geiger counter.
I have never seen something like this before. Most DU counterweights are labelled Depleted Uranium.
