Very nice Jack.  You make everything look easy.  And it's not.  Don't you have a Watts, and a big plastic top? If so can you make a video of them using long ling?  PLEASE.

thank you cecil, and yes dammit yes i will make that long line video!!! i just went and found some string and pared it with a larger solid wooden trompo style top that i made awhile back  ;) now all i have to do is find a top that im willing to let it kill  >:D
heres a pic, its way heavier and a bit larger than the QSH  8)

first non rainy day and that bad boy is gonna taste blood drawn from a longline throw striking a fatal blow to its adversary.........in your honour sir  >:D

Be careful if you start pushing the suicides very high, with a glass table and a car close by!

By the way, if you take a video of a suicide and inspect it frame by frame it is easy to measure the height:

H = g/8 T2 = 1.23 T2 with the height in meters and the time between release and catch in seconds.

If the top is light or big it might give a slight overestimation due to air resistance.

Except big birds and math! ;D

johnm

Jack, basically the math boils down to the following:

if you had fun then the suicide toss was high enough,
if you didn't have fun then throw it higher next time.

No test to follow. ;D

cecil

Thanks Jack. Can't Waite to see your video. Most of the time when I try the suicide throw the line wraps around the tip and just falls back. When I keep the top horizontal and throw with no twist in the line it will work SOMETIMES. Can you make a video explaining how the suicide works?  Your FAN CECIL.

the Earl of Whirl

Now THIS is my kind of math.....

-If you had fun then the suicide toss was high enough,
-if you didn't have fun then throw it higher next time.

Thanks, johnm!!!
