I find their skill especially appealing because they are still basically throwing a top in the traditional way.  It's just that they do it so amazingly accurate.

String tricks are a major departure from traditional top throwing.  People invented a totally different thing to do with tops.

It's somewhat analogous to "Freestyle Frisbee".  The Frisbee is a flying disc, meant be thrown, but freestylers invented something totally different to do with flying discs.

Nice collection, Alan. Welcome aboard.

I've seen some of these videos before, but the displays of skill and accuracy still blow me away every time. As an added bonus, the female commentator in the video posted by johnm is absolutely delightful.

She is hilarious.  I know nothing about what she is saying but I enjoy listening to her.  Her enthusiasm would add to any of our top competitions.  We need her as a commentator!!!

Welcome. Thanks for sharing. I love the style of this top. Once I've modified it - I'm ready to fight and trick with this nice heavy top.

Hello Guys,

Thank you all for the videos! I am dumbfounded by the skill of these throwers, and am considering getting into "target" throwing. Can I just use any old top for this, or are there specific tops I should use, such as the traditional tops?

Thank you!
