DEEZ. ARE. SO HARD.

To date I have only been able orbit over my left arm.  When I try the right arm it feels just plain wrong.  Keep messing with it and remember sometimes you have to stop forcing what you think should work and just do the opposite to see what changes.

I've made a short video with half orbits for you. It's recorded with headcam, one part is with one way bearing so you can hear the regenerating part of trick. My tips are:
- hard and fast pull with right hand
- keep the right elbow down (for orbits above right hand)
- ellipse movement with right hand

I also included a bit of UD half orbits but these are not regenerating much  :D

I guess it should say: "ellipse movement with left hand"

I do it somewhat differently, by moving my left hand mostly up and down: right hand goes to the right away from the top as left comes down close to the top; and right hand goes left approaching the top while left hand goes up.
Something important is to grab the correct length of string: easier to go short than long.
It regenerates more spin than the full orbits (a.k.a. double satellites or magnetic wire) and it is easier to achieve (although the movement is more complex). It is also more fun.

I had planned to do the UD right-arm half-orbits on a freestyle, but I never got to do it, I think.

thanks ta0!!! im surprised at the fact that it regenrates more spin than full orbits  :o
i must go learn.........................................................................................

I've really meant right hand  :D but it makes sense for both hands for me  :D

My instructions aren't probably the best ones but if you don't know what you are doing wrong you can try different ideas  ;)

I recorded a little video of my half orbits. Nothing special except the second top . . .   ;)

Good right and left half-orbits.
I think that (on the right half-orbits) your right hand does a more vertical movement than when I do them.

Since we're sharing videos here's my contribution... from 7 years ago. I probably can't do this anymore...
