It is national LEGO day and it is also my day off.  This means I can have some fun trying to have some fun with these bricks.  Where is Jeremy?  I thought we could enjoy this day together!!!

I am always a sucker for this.  LEGO day really sounds like fun.  This year it was more fun than normal as I got to visit a fairly new store in my area - the Dayton Brick Store.  What a great place.  They have lots of space and lots of bins of pieces you can play with.  There are some giant displays and lots of kits to look at or buy.  I had better time than I imagined and was there way over two hours.

I made at least five tops that spin pretty well.  Most of my LEGO tops use a lot of plates and grow out from the central point.  I see a website that shows more rounded LEGO tops.  It seems that I should try some of these and expand my repertoire.  One little four or five year old girl was building stuff near me and seemed interested in what I was doing.  I told her to "watch this" and put one on the floor and gave it a spin.  She let out a loud "wow" and made my day with her excited reaction.
