I know about Cuba's white-sand beaches, rolling mountains, cigars, rum and salsa dancing.  Well, actually I only know of any of that because of Wikipedia!!!  Sorry jim in paris, I wish I could give you some good inside information.  We used to have a pretty decent closer by the name of Aroldis Chapman with the Cincinnati Reds baseball team.  He is from Cuba and could have given us some good info. but, alas, he is now in New York with the Yankees.  Too far for me to ride my unicycle for an interview.

If you are interested, here is an article about his life in the US where he says he misses many things about Cuba:

Best wishes to your brother.  It sounds like a fascinating assignment.

There is a village called Trompo close to the north coast, but it is far from Havana and it probably has nothing worth visiting (although I wouldn't be surprised if there is a small spintop sculpture).

:o
Would it be too much to ask Raul if he played trompos with Fidel when they were kids? :P :P :P :P
