Japan National Koma Contest
« on: December 23, 2015, 11:16:28 AM »

This Sunday will take place the 3rd Japan National Koma Contest in Tokyo at the Tachikawa Children's Future Center (I believe not far from Taka's second store).
Here is the announcement on the Japanese Top Spinning Promotion Association site: link

I saw that any fixed shaft is allowed but bearing is not.

Good luck to Shogo, Keita and Taka!

Can't read a lick of it of course but I do like their wallpaper. I'd like to see what they define as a fixed shaft.

I'd like to see what they define as a fixed shaft.

I would guess anything that has friction on the string. ie. no bearing.

It seems that Tsutomu Takeda ("Take-chan") is the new Japan champion. Well deserved! Congratulations!

Rupan (Shogo) seems to be freezing on the awards photo. I don't think I could play tops in that much cold.

I take the opportunity to re-post this photo of Takeda at worlds.

Unfortunately it does not qualify for the photo contest. But Taka could enter the one he just took of him doing a koma tangler . . . (by the way, only 3 days left to post/nominate a photo for the 2015 contest!)

 :) :) :) 8) 8) 8)

Thanks a lot for editing and posting that video! It felt like I was having fun with you all! I wish I could have been there to meet again Koma-no-Oochan, Hiroko, Keita, Lupin (to me Shogo's nickname sounded more like Rupan), Take-chan, Toshiaki and yourself.

Take-chan's son got an early initiation to the secrets of the Tangler!  :)

Mike: did you notice the sweatshirt Keita is using?

Nice video!  I love all the clever tricks with Komas.

Football Ohio with an American Indian logo?  That sweatshirt has me perplexed.  Thanks for pointing it out, ta0!

I am the same. Winding is very hard.  Boomerang timing seems totally different and even a merry go round seems to be impossible to me with a koma.  However I do love the Spingear POM koma that just arrived.

The Japanese love American style shirts (at least they did when I was there 27 years ago) I had to buy one for myself that has a not obvious but particularly funny misspelling.
