4th July in paname
« on: July 04, 2015, 04:35:13 PM »

hi all
it's still the heat wave here in france!
and in Paris the parks are left open at night : good thing
at noon there was some bluesgrass at a local café with the stars and stripes flag and a couple of Harley's.. ! *******4th July !!
then at 7pm i went to the Harry's Bar near the Opera
it's been the American Bar in Paris for a long time ....
i talked to people in the street (i feels good to talk to strangers)
the bar was packed and I couldn't get inside//////////
finally i got in and ordered a "stinger" (cognac-mint cream-ice)and ventured to play some old school yoyo, picture tricks....and spintops with the good old alien trompo...fun but sweating a lot.. i stopped and the bartender told me that the "stinger" was often called a "stringer"
that was it !
good times at the cost of a metro ticket (someone paid for the drink ;D!)

It is interesting that our July 4th report comes from France!  I thought about getting out some red, white and blue tops for the afternoon and having some fun with them but I got busy doing other things (napping) after a long week of Day Camp.
