So.....it's Mike's birthday today, too?   ;D

Thanks for the greetings, everyone.  I appreciate it.

So, mailman, are you saying it is YOUR birthday too?

I have had a lot of things happen on my birthday.....weddings, baptisms, funerals, softball games where I get a game winning hit (I think once I even hit a lucky homerun on my bd) but today was something special.  The head coach of the girl's track and cross country team took his wife in to the hospital today and she had a baby.  Reece Elizabeth!  How exciting to see them right before and be a small part of all the excitement!!!

It sounds like you had an exciting birthday. Mike!  Yes, my birthday was yesterday, as well.  I had a very nice day.  This month our monthly ukulele group meet-up fell on my birthday, so that was fun.  I suppose it's never too early to start planning for my next few dozen birthdays....  ;D

Happy birthday also to you, mailman!

The probability that in a group of 23 people there are at least 2 who share the same birthday is 50%, what at first glance sounds surprising.
However, the probability that someone shares YOUR birthday is much less. For that to be 50% you need 253 people. We do have 355 members registered on the board, so the probability is more like 60% for any of us to share a birthday. Of course, the active members are closer to the first number  ::)
I did not calculate all of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday_problem  ;)

Thanks for all the stats.  I know this........it feels good to have someone else to have "birthday talk" with.  Our choir director at our church also has a 6/4 bd and we have a lot of fun with it.  By the way, he is 93 and pretty amazing!!!

So, mailman, let's start planning for a big bd next year!!!

Sounds good to me!  We'll start our planning when we meet in August....
