T.M.L.G.
« on: May 03, 2015, 02:39:08 AM »

i cant figure out what key word is keeping me from posting a very lengthy dissertation and discription of this trick ive come up with, its 2:30 am. i am dying, i am crying, i give to you with much joy the: Technicolour Moose's Ladder Grind @-@ (or T.M.L.G for short). i call it that on account of the steps it must take up until it reaches the grind @-@. it must be done.......fixed tip! meh! fixed tip 4 life! meh! #fixedTip #bestTip #bearingIsOkTooIguess #meh!

top used: QSH fixed ("C" tip)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-fJVy4PEwI

heres a pic of the string setup:

first the top is lowered into the loop, then the top is popped (i actually wrote "pooped" so its a good thing i proof read this post @-@) up onto the taught line between the hands which is kept relatively taught alowing for one wrap around the tip as it precesses, it is then popped off the taught line and out of the single wrap and landded grinding on the tips of the first and second fingers where apon it is currled to finish the trick.

whatya make a that there eh?

edit: i keep getting this error when i try to post, its making me very sad  :'( i has new trick but i cant express myself properly without getting: Forbidden

The name of that combo sounds like a quantum mechanics theorem  ;)

I think you need to swap the first and second steps to make it more interesting: catch trapeze, whip onto small loop, then grind. Make the loop in a continuous move out of the trapeze. Not that I can do it :P

PS: the word that seems to be creating a problem with the forum is "c u r l"

I wonder what is so evil about c url? Rachel is getting quite good at the trick that we dare not spell.
Anyway the TMLG is a cool sequence. A bit harder than it looks I think.  The hop to the hand is hard for me.  I am not even close to how smooth Jack is in the final part of the trick that shall not be spelled.  I must do the trick with a bearing top as I just cut my fingernails. (that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it)  With a bearing top I can end the trick with the top on the tip of my thumb.
Thanks Jack for inspiring me to stretch a bit.  I assume that one must be Canadian to understand the meaning of the TMLG name. :)

Strange.  Will the forum let you use "kerl"?  Or, "kurl"?

well no not exactly, to understand the technicolour moose one needs several things:
a good toque
a skidoo
a spintop of any description
a maple tree
and lastly the most important thing is lysergic acid diethylamide @-@

Jack: nice trick or combo, tricky part is to throw top out of loop without tangling string  :)

I've made short video with TMLG and "Inverse" TMLG as ta0 proposed:
