I don't say this very often, but: don't throw tops for a while.  ;) Take it easy.

Welcome back!

I am back! It is hard to believe how good the TEAM was. Each and everyone did a wonderful job. I feel really well, no serious pain, a little tired but considering what they did I expect to be tired for a while. Probably no driving or top throwing for about 6 weeks. The sternum needs time to get strong again (for now it is wired together)  Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers, it really meant a lot. More later, THANKS AGAIN!

good grief man u scared us  :'( welcome home

Dick,
I'm glad to hear that you healing is progressing so well.

GREAT NEWS !!!!!!!!!! Yesterday I had a text book perfect EKG and the doc does not need to see me for 6 months. I can resume all "normal activates" That includes driving so my chauffeur gave me a check ride and I fired her, she is so happy. Many thanks to all of you for your support during the last 8 weeks. It is not something that I would recommend for everyone but if you need it, it is well worth while.

Glad you are doing well.  These  repair jobs are always  taxing, and somehow the Docs seem to leave out some of the recovery details?

Good news from Don, the news from me is also good. I saw the arrhythmia doc today. The history in my pace maker showed that almost a year before the surgery I was having A-Fib 24 hours a day. After the Maze procedure and the repair of the mitrol valve I have had ZERO A-Fib. He lowered the heart rate floor from 80 to 70 and said stop the Amiodarone pills!!!!!!!!!!!! Three months from now I phone in the data and wait six months to see him again. Terrific news, thanks for your support and prayers. Dick
