Tighter Spintastics Tips?
« on: January 16, 2015, 09:59:19 AM »

A day or two I went to replace the stock tip in my Quicksilver with a C tip, but contrary to reports of it being too loose, needing a shim to hold it in place, I had to use a wood block and hammer to get the tip in the top. Now the top has a slight vibration, but that might be from the tip being miscentered or not completely inserted. The tip doesn't appear to be bent.

I pull all my C tips in with a 6-32 cap screw and washer. But you have to drill and tap the tip.
Try a little sanding and rotate tip to find a good balance. I allways have plenty of extra C tips. All the big tips I make are copied from the C tip.

cecil's right. you could also try throwing it onto a hard smooth surface, ive found that doing that wil often reset a wayward tip to the right place
